On October 2, 2019 a cooperation agreement was signed between Salym Petroleum Development N.V. and BerezkaGas Company LLC within the Russian Energy Week 2019. Michael Collins, CEO, Salym Petroleum Development N.V. and Dmitry Lipyavko, Director General, BerezkaGas Company LLC, affixed their signatures to this document. Natalia Komarova, the Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region – Yugra was a special guest of the event.
The parties have agreed to cooperate in the sphere of development of technologies in gas treatment, summarizing and implementing the best experience in the power and oil & gas industries to enhance environmental safety of the production.
The document stipulates collective work around the Salym group of oil fields, optimizing the process of associated petroleum gas treatment, as well as developing and implementing waste-free, low-waste and resource-saving technologies.
“Signing this agreement is a new stage in developing the years-long cooperation between our companies in associated petroleum gas utilization. Since 2008, our companies have been jointly implementing a program on utilizing the gas from the Salym group of oil fields and as of today, the problem of 98% APG utilization is solved.
The Paris Agreement on greenhouse gas emissions mitigation ratified by Russia raises solving environmental tasks to a new level. The purpose of this Agreement is making sure the parties try to minimize hazardous emissions and ideally, reduce them to zero.
The experience received during more than a dozen years of Salym project implementation underlies the program on Associated Petroleum Gas Monetization developed following the initiative of the Government of KhMAO and Ugra Gas Union. In essence, implementing this program will make it possible to reduce hazardous substances emissions into the atmosphere significantly,” emphasized Dmitry Lipyavko.
Michael Collins, CEO, Salym Petroleum, noted: “Today, I am happy to sign an agreement with our long-time partner with which we have been working at the Salym group of oil fields for more than ten years. We will continue our efficient cooperation, supporting the highest safety standards together, specifically, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”Back to
