The asset portfolio of Salym Petroleum Development (a joint venture of Gazprom Neft and Shell) now has a new license to survey, explore and produce traditional hydrocarbon reserves at the Salymsky 2 license block in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
According to the agreement reached by the partners to this deal Salym Petroleum Development* (SPD) acquired a 100% stake from Gazprom Neft in the authorized capital of LLC Salymsky-2, the company that has the license for the block with the same name. SPD will become the operator of the new site that borders the West Salym, Vadelyp, and Upper Salym fields already being developed by the joint venture.
A geological exploration program is currently underway at Salymsky 2. Following the results of this program SPD will draft a development plan for the asset..
Salym Petroleum Development is a joint venture whose 50/50 shareholders are Shell Salym Development B.V. (a part of Royal Dutch Shell) and LLC GPN-Salymskiye proekti (a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft).
SPD has been developing the Salym Group of oilfields located in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug since 2003. The total cumulative production since the start of the development at the Salym Group of fields exceeds 89,4 mln tons of oil.
