The Governor of Yugra Natalia Komarova and Chief Executive Officer of Salym Petroleum Development N.V. (SPD) Michael Collins have signed Additional Agreement No.3 to Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region - Yugra and the company.
The document specifies the list of projects, programs and events at a total value of 85 million rubles that the company will finance in the Autonomous Region in 2022.
"The new agreement maps out the points of further growth of our social partnership aimed at meeting the goals of balanced sustainable development of the company's operation area, improvement of the region residents’ quality of life, expanding opportunities for their personal empowerment," said Michael Collins, SPD Chief Executive Officer. – We shall continue investing in human capital and spreading the best practices successfully implemented by the company in the region. Among them are Good Neighbors social program; popularization of STEM education and technical professions among girls; training on Skills of the Future and professional competencies; promotion of diversity & involvement principle, etc.
In 2022 the company will act traditionally as a partner of international and regional events in Yugra: Oil Capital International Youth Research Forum; Save and Preserve International Environmental Campaign; Energy Companies Young Specialists Conference; Growth Point Yugra Cup on Business Management - Global Management Challenge International Championship regional stage, etc.
SPD environmental footprint reduction and decarbonization projects are in the focus of the company's management. In 2022 the company will acquire equipment for Yugra State University to implement joint project on monitoring of greenhouse gas flow, data evaluation and recommendations on carbon footprint reduction technologies.
Under Healthy Yugra program SPD will acquire medical equipment for KMAO-Yugra Emergency Medicine Center, Nefteyugansk District Hospital in Poyovsky village, V.Yatskiv Nefteyugansk Regional Hospital and ambulances for Salym District Hospital.
In education the company will implement projects on workshop zone construction in Salym School No.2 and street lighting installation for Sentyabrsky School; allocate funds to repair pre-school institutions in Salym and Kut-Yakh, install children’s playgrounds in Salym; equip with one-touch equipment tutor office in Yugra State University and Intelligence Center in Museum of Geology, Oil and Gas.
Moreover, the company will support projects on setting up rehabilitation equipment repair center and installing accessibility elements in Torum MAA Outdoor Museum in Khanty-Mansiysk and Yugra Pearl Community Center in Sentyabrsky village.
In addition, SPD will finance sports and healthy lifestyle projects on construction of universal outdoor sports ground for tennis, volleyball and basketball in Kut-Yakh and repair of Atlant sports center.
SPD total social investments in the region since the beginning of Salym project implementation exceed 1.3 billion rubles.
Salym Petroleum Development N.V. is a Joint Venture set up on a parity basis by Shell and Gazpromneft. Since 2003 SPD has been developing Salym group of oilfields in the Western Siberia. During the years of Salym project implementation SPD drilled over 1,500 wells and produced 100 million tons of oil. Salym project is one of the largest onshore investment projects with foreign capital in the Russian energy sector.Back to
