On October 26-28 a group of students from Yugra State University actively participating in university joint projects with SPD had an opportunity to visit Salym field and familiarize themselves with Salym project progress in the autonomous region.

On the first day right after arrival, safety briefing and getting passes the students of Yugra State University had a meeting with Elena Reznikova, HR Senior Specialist. At the meeting Elena told the students about the company and personnel management. Information about human resources development, corporate culture, employees’ incentive programs arouse students’ particular interest.

After dinner Corporate Affairs Specialist Margarita Sukhinina told to the guests about Salym project main milestones, goals, must wins, the company’s strategy, policies and presented souvenirs with SPD logo.

The second day schedule was tough and covered several meetings with the company’s specialists from different departments. Early in the morning the students put on PPE and went to Central Processing Facility (CPF) where they met with Field Manager Brian Konnah who briefed the students about the company road map, operation/field management principles. It was followed by another meeting with SPD Head of Field HSSE Oleg Muradyan excitingly telling about 12 life-saving rules, green cards, Goal - Zero and literally showered with questions by students who met with him again in the base camp later. Ekaterina Lapenkova made interesting environmental presentation for the students.

In the afternoon a tour around CPF facilities was arranged for the students during which the company specialists explained to the visitors the principles of operation process management. Visiting producing well pad and drilling pad sparked students’ interest. Field Superintendent Vitaly Gustov told about producing wells operation and Drilling Supervisor Denis Bulanov about wells drilling in easy-to-understand manner. The students were surprised as they didn’t see even a drop of oil, whereas oil production and drilling operations were fully automated and operators set required parameters just using touch panel.

Tour wrap-up meeting ran over far into the night October 28, the students shared their opinions, discussed technologies, company management and impressive achievements.
